Report: Arkansas, Texas to renew basketball rivalry

Arkansas coach Mike Anderson directs his team against Missouri Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, during the second half of play in Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

Arkansas will reportedly renew its basketball rivalry with Texas next season.

The Razorbacks and Longhorns will play Dec. 17 at the Toyota Center in Houston, according to a CBSSports.com report. The game will be part of a doubleheader with Arizona and Texas A&M, according to the report.

Arkansas and Texas - former Southwest Conference rivals - haven't played since January 2011. The Razorbacks lead the all-time series 85-67, but the Longhorns have won three of the past four meetings.

CBSSports.com has also reported that Arkansas and Minnesota will begin a home-and-home series next season in Minneapolis. The Razorbacks are also expected to play in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
