Razorback women finish 4th at SECs

No. 13 Arkansas shot 1-under par in the final round of the SEC women’s golf championships to finish at 7-under and in fourth place at the Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., on Sunday.

No. 8 Florida carded a 10-under 278 in the final round to finish at 22-under, 13 strokes ahead of No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Georgia. The Crimson Tide fired a 13-under, the best round of the tournament to move up five places on Sunday.

Arkansas finished three strokes ahead of Texas A&M and South Carolina, which shot matching 4-under pars for the tournament.

The Razorbacks were paced by sophomore Kaylee Benton and junior Alana Uriell, who tied for seventh place at 4-under. Benton shot 3-under 69 in the final round while Uriell carded her second consecutive 72.

Arkansas sophomore Cara Gorlei shot even par on Sunday and finished in a tie for 22nd place at even par 216 for the tourney. Senior Summar Roachell was one shot back at 1-over after a final round 74, and sophomore Maria Fassi shot 79 for the second consecutive round and wound up tied for 63rd (15 over).

South Carolina’s Katelyn Dambaugh had a 12-under to edge Georgia’s Harang Lee by one stroke for medalist honors.

The Razorbacks will find out their NCAA regional assignment this week.
