Arkansas adds 7 more early football enrollees

— Arkansas has added seven new enrollees to the football program for the spring semester, bringing to 10 the number of newcomers who will be available for spring practice.

Junior college transfers Brandon Martin, Jonathan Nance and Jeremy Patton joined the team for a few bowl practices in December after the end of the fall semester.

The 10 early enrollees is a program record for the Razorbacks under fifth-year Coach Bret Bielema.

The new enrollees are offensive linemen Kirby Adcock, Shane Clenin and Dalton Wagner, outside linebacker Kyrei Fisher, cornerback Korey Hernandez, quarterback Daulton Hyatt and running back Maleek Williams.

Williams, a 6-0, 230-pounder from Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte, is rated the No. 33 running back in the country by ESPN and the No. 14 running back in Florida by Scout. He rushed for 1,294 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior.

Hyatt, 6-4, 180, of Attala (Ala.) Etowah, is rated as the No. 9 pocket passer and the No. 150 overall prospect in the the country by ESPN. He is also the No. 1 quarterback prospect in Alabama by Scout and he passed for 2,240 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior.

Adcock, a 6-5, 300-pounder from Nashville, is rated the No. 1 offensive tackle in Arkansas by Scout and is versatile enough to play all five spots on the line. Clenin, 6-5, 295 of Festus (Mo.) Jefferson, is rated the No. 1 offensive tackle in Missouri by Scout and the No. 8 player in the state by ESPN.com. Wagner, 6-9, 315, of Spring Grove, Ill., is rated as the No. 4 player in Illinois by 247Sports and the No. 1 tackle in the state by Scout.

Fisher, 6-2, 235 pounds, of Tulsa (Okla.) Union, is ranked the No. 11 player in Oklahoma by Rivals and the 14 player in the state by 247Sports composite ratings.

Hernandez, 5-10, 170 pounds, of Atlanta (Ga.) Cedar Grove totaled more than 1,000 all-purpose yards as a receiver and special teams player. He is ranked the No. 65 cornerback in the country by ESPN and the No. 71 cornerback by Scout.

• Kirby Adcock, OL, 6-5, 300, Nashville

A consensus three-star prospect, Adcock was ranked as the 65th-best offensive linemen in the country by ESPN and chose Arkansas over Iowa State, Southern Miss and Arkansas State.

The Little Rock Touchdown Club awarded Adcock as the Wille Road Award winner as the best lineman in the state of Arkansas.

Adcock, who will be looked at a possibility for all five spots on the offensive line, headed up a Nashville team that rushed for 3,525 yards - an average of 9.1 yards per carry - and compiled more than 6,000 yards total offense.

Nashville went 15-0 and won the state championship during Adcock’s junior year.

Shane Clenin, OL, 6-6, 295, Festus, Mo., Jefferson:

A three-star prospect by ESPN that chose Arkansas over Indiana, Northwestern, Iowa State, New Mexico, Colorado State and others.

Clenin played in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Atlanta after registering 50 pancake blocks as a senior and was on an offense that averaged 381 yards per game.

Kyrie Fisher, MLB, 6-2, 235, Tulsa, Oka., Union:

ESPN has Fisher as a three-star prospect and the 68th-best linebacker nationally. He had 65 tackles and eight sacks as a senior with four of them coming in the 6A state championship game win over Norman North.

He chose Arkansas over Minnesota, Michigan State, Texas, Colorado, Houston and others.

Korey Hernandez, CB, 5-10, 170, Atlanta, Ga., Cedar Grove:

A consensus three-star prospect, Hernandez is ranked as the nation’s 65th-best cornerback by ESPN and led his team to the Class 6A state title.

He had 64 total tackles, 27 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and three interceptions en route to earning all-region first-team honors and also totaled more than 1,000 all-purpose yards through the air, kick returns and punt returns.

Hernandez chose Arkansas over Iowa, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Wake Forest, South Florida and others.

• Daulton Hyatt, QB, 6-4, 180, Attala, Ala., Etowah:

ESPN has Hyatt as a four-star prospect, the top quarterback in Alabama and the No. 5 player overall.

He played two years at Arab and his final season at Etowah, and ended his career with 6,216 passing yards and 50 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,854 yards and 24 more scores.

Hyatt completed 66 percent of his passes this season and threw for 2,240 yards and 25 touchdowns with five interceptions. He also added 419 yards and five touchdowns rushing.

He chose Arkansas over Louisville, Miami, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Maryland and others, and participated in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game.

• Dalton Wagner, OL, 6-9, 315, Spring Grove, Ill., Richmond Burton:

A consensus three-star prospect, Wagner is the top offensive tackle in Illinois and chose Arkansas over Vanderbilt, Virginia, Louisville, California, Utah, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and others.

Wagner’s brother, Bryce, is a sophomore offensive lineman at Southern Illinois and his his father, Brad, was an offensive lineman at Western Illinois.

• Maleek Williams, TB, 6-0, 230, Punta Gorda. Fla., Charlotte:

ESPN rated Williams as a four-star prospect and the 33rd best running back overall in the 2017 class.

Williams was named the Suncoast Sports All-Area Player of the Year after rushing for 1,294 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior.

He chose Arkansas over Tennessee, Oregon, Kentucky, North Carolina, Colorado, Illinois, South Florida, Minnesota, Purdue and others.
