— Two former Arkansas players are among 75 on the ballot for the 2018 class of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Dan Hampton is on the ballot for the second consecutive year and is joined this year by Cliff Powell, who last was on the ballot two years ago.

Hampton, a Pro Football Hall of Fame member, was a first-team all-American defensive tackle as a senior in 1978 when he recorded 18 tackles for loss. The Jacksonville native also was a two-time all-Southwest Conference player and helped lead the Razorbacks to an upset of No. 2 Oklahoma in the 1978 Orange Bowl.

Powell, from Eudora, was a first-team all-American linebacker in 1969 and was a two-time all-SWC performer. He ranks fourth all-time at Arkansas with 154 tackles in 1968 and sixth with 367 career tackles.

Powell had a career-high 24 tackles in the 1969 Big Shootout against Texas, which is third-most in a single game at Arkansas.

Former Arkansas coach Danny Ford was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame earlier this year. The Razorbacks have 15 former players and coaches in the hall of fame, which is located in Atlanta.
