— Two Arkansas baseball signees signed with professional teams Tuesday, one week after they were selected in the MLB amateur draft.

Iowa Western College left-handed pitcher Daniel Tillo signed with the Kansas City Royals and Rockwall, Texas, outfielder Canaan Smith signed with the New York Yankees. Tillo was a third-round pick and Smith was drafted in the fourth round.

Tillo's signing bonus was worth $557,500, according to MLB.com, about $60,000 under slot value for the 92nd overall pick.

Smith, who was taken 122nd overall, signed with the Yankees for $497,500, which is $64,400 more than slot value.

Tillo and Smith were the second and third Arkansas signees to go pro since the draft. Eva, Ala., left-handed pitcher Dakota Bennett signed with the Florida Marlins after being selected in the 11th round last Wednesday.

Arkansas senior pitcher Cannon Chadwick has also signed with the New York Mets after being selected in the ninth round. The signing bonus for Chadwick was $10,000, according to MLB Pipeline, well below the slot value of $139,700.
