FAYETTEVILLE — Freshman Luis Garza and junior Alvaro Ortiz picked up honors Wednesday as part of the SEC’s annual awards for men’s golf.
Garza, a native of Leon, Mexico, was named to the All-Freshman team after nine top-20 finishes. Garza had a team-high 18 rounds under par, posted a 71.8 scoring average and placed second at the Gopher Invitational.
Ortiz, of Zapopan, Mexico, was named to the SEC Community Service team. A member of UA’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Ortiz is actively involved in service projects and holds a 3.158 GPA.
The Razorbacks learn their NCAA regional destination at 11 a.m. today on the Golf Channel.
