Warren provides highlight

Arkansas receiver De'Vion Warren returns a kickoff for a touchdown during a game against Auburn on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE -- De'Vion Warren provided a bright spot on a tough Saturday night for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

After Auburn took a 38-6 lead, Warren, a freshman wide receiver from Monroe, La., returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown.

It was the Razorbacks' first touchdown on a kickoff return since 2014 when Korliss Marshall had a 97-yarder against Northern Illinois.

Richardson on a roll

Kevin Richardson is piling up interceptions for the Razorbacks.

Richardson, a senior defensive back and team captain from Jacksonville, had an interception for the third time in four games when he picked off a pass by Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham in the second quarter of Saturday night's game.

Last week at Alabama, Richardson ended quarterback Jalen Hurts' streak of passes without an interception at 206.

Richardson's first interception this season came in the end zone against New Mexico State's Tyler Rogers.

O-line shuffle continues

The Razorbacks had their third different starting offensive line combination in a three-game span.

Frank Ragnow went back to center Saturday after starting at right guard at Alabama.

Johnny Gibson started at right guard, Brian Wallace at right tackle, Hjatle Froholdt at left guard and Paul Ramirez at left tackle.

Froholdt is the only lineman to start in the same spot in every game this season.

Ragnow and Gibson have started every game, but at two positions. Ragnow has started at center and right guard, and Gibson at right guard and right tackle.

Wallace made his second consecutive start after starting the final 10 games last season. Ramirez made his second start of the season.

Injury report

The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville announced before the game that quarterback Austin Allen (shoulder), safety DeAndre Coley (ankle) and tight end Jack Kraus (head) would not play because of injuries.

It was the second consecutive game Allen has missed.

Tailback Chase Hayden didn't play in the second half. He appeared to suffer an injury on a 40-yard run in the second quarter.

Offensive tackle Brian Wallace left the game in the third quarter with an injury, but he returned the next series.

Anthracite again

Arkansas wore anthracite -- a grayish color -- helmets, jerseys and pants for Saturday's game.

It was the fifth time the Razorbacks wore anthracite. They're now 2-3 wearing the color.

Previously wearing anthracite Arkansas beat Kentucky 49-7 and lost to Ole Miss 30-27 in 2012, lost to Mississippi State 24-17 in overtime in 2013 and beat Florida 31-10 last season.

Saturday night was the second time this season the Razorbacks have worn nontraditional uniforms. They wore Dallas Cowboys inspired uniforms to honor Cowboys owner and Arkansas alumnus Jerry Jones in a 50-43 overtime loss to Texas A&M in Arlington, Texas.

Penalty issues

Arkansas left tackle Paul Ramirez was called for three penalties in the first half: twice for false starts and once for holding.

Colton Jackson started the second half at left tackle in Ramirez's place.

Ramirez got back in the game for a series in the third quarter at right tackle when Brian Wallace left the game with an injury. Wallace returned for the next series.

Gus in Fayetteville

Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn -- a former Arkansas offensive coordinator and walk-on receiver, and longtime high school coach in the state who grew up in Fort Smith -- improved to 2-4 as a visitor in Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Arkansas beat Tulsa 30-23 in 2008 when Malzahn was the Golden Hurricane's offensive coordinator.

Malzahn was Auburn's coordinator when the Razorbacks beat the Tigers 44-23 in 2009 and 38-14 in 2011.

Malzahn was in his first season at Auburn's coach in 2013 when he finally got a win at Arkansas, 35-17, en route to the Tigers winning the SEC championship.

In 2015, the Razorbacks beat the Tigers 54-46 in four overtimes.

Patton back

Arkansas tight end Jeremy Patton started after missing the Alabama game because of a left ankle injury.

Vs. Auburn

Arkansas fell to 11-15-1 against Auburn and lost to the Tigers for the second consecutive season and fourth time in five seasons.

The Tigers won 56-3 last season at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Captain Swanson

Travis Swanson, who started 50 consecutive games at center for Arkansas form 2010-2013 and now starts for the Detroit Lions, served as honorary team captain.

The Lions have an open date this week.

1977 team honored

Members of the Razorbacks' 1977 team held a 40-year reunion this weekend and were honored on the field during a timeout in the second quarter.

The 1977 Razorbacks finished No. 3 in the nation in The Associated Press poll. They were 11-1 with a 31-6 victory in the Orange Bowl over Oklahoma.

Happy birthday

Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton -- a former Arkansas player and assistant coach -- turned 50 years old Friday.

Horton earned his marketing degree from Arkansas in 1990 after being a three-year starter at receiver and punt returner for the Razorbacks, including their Southwest Conference championship teams in 1988 and 1989. He was Arkansas' running backs coach for six seasons from 2007-2012 before going to Auburn.

Cook injured

Arkansas graduate assistant Brey Cook wore a large brace on his left leg and walked with the aid of crutches Saturday.

Cook, an offensive lineman for the Razorbacks from 2011-2014, said he injured his knee during practice when a player accidentally rolled up on him.

In four seasons as a player, Cook never missed a game because of injury.

Flag bearers

Junior safety Reid Miller carried the United States flag and sophomore tight end Cheyenne O'Grady carried the Arkansas flag when the Razorbacks ran onto the field.
