Modica to be recognized as SEC Legend

Georgia forward Jarvis Hayes (24) puts pressure on Arkansas guard Jonathan Modica in action at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville Saturday evening.

Former Arkansas guard Jonathan Modica will be recognized as an SEC Legend at next month's SEC Men's Basketball Tournament in St. Louis.

Modica finished his Razorbacks career 12th on the program's all-time scoring list and led Arkansas is scoring in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. His 855 points in SEC games ranks second in program history.

Modica's play as a senior guided Arkansas to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in four seasons in 2005-06. He averaged 17.8 points per game in conference play and his 37-point performance against South Carolina in 2006 still stands as the third most by a Razorback in an SEC game.

The Smackover, Arkansas, native was named All-SEC second team twice by conference coaches and earned All-Freshman team honors in 2003.
