Arkansas to be well represented at NCAA Indoor Championships

Taliyah Brooks placed first in the Pentathlon, seventh in the 60-meter hurdles and was part of Arkansas' seventh-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay at the SEC Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas.

FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas Razorbacks’ men’s and women’s track and field teams will be well represented at the NCAA Indoor Championships March 9-10 in College Station, Texas.

The No. 2-ranked Razorbacks’ women’s team has qualified eight athletes in eight events with 12 scoring opportunities.

Senior Taliyah Brooks is competing in the pentathlon and long jump — she ranks second in both events — and junior Payton Chadwick will compete in 60-meter hurdles and 200.

Three Razorbacks will be in the pole vault with juniors Lexi Jacobus and Tori Hoggard — twin sisters from Cabot who rank second and third — and Desiree Freier.

Also competing for the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville women’s team are senior Nikki Hiltz (mile) sophomore Jada Baylark (60), freshmen Janeek Brown (60 hurdles) and Morgan Burks-Magee (400).

The Razorbacks’ No. 3 men’s team will have 10 athletes competing in eight events with nine scoring opportunities, led by senior Kenzo Cotton in the 60 and 200.

Also competing for Arkansas are junior Obi Igbokwe (400, 1,600 relay), sophomore Cameron Griffith (3,000), senior Jack Bruce (5,000), junior Gabe Moore (heptathlon), junior Jah-Nhai Perinchief (high jump) and sophomore Laquan Naim (long jump) and seniors Kemar Mowatt and Jamarco Stephen and junior Rhayko Swartz on the 1,600 relay.
