Each Wednesday we feature an in-state prospect that could be flying under the radar of college coaches. This week's UTR prospect is Stuttgart’s David Walker:

CLASS: 2019

SIZE: 6-2, 235

STATS: As a junior, he recorded 77 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, an interception, 8 pass breakups and a forced fumble. Offensively, he finished with 36 carries for 331 yards, 6 touchdowns, 13 receptions for 129 yards and 3 touchdowns.

COACH: Josh Price

“You’re talking about a sophomore that was probably 5-9 and 170 pounds and just played a little bit of special teams. He wasn't even a factor when I first got here two years ago. He just kept growing and kept growing. He’s really bought into the weight room, too.

“He’s a 270-pound power cleaner. He has the strongest hands of any kid that I’ve ever coached. When he gets his hands on you on defense, he’s got you. He’s very, very physical with his hands.”

“He got the Defensive Lineman of the Year in this conference as a defensive end, but I don’t know if he’s going to play end at the next level, and on a selfish note, you put him at end, they can run away from you. We’ve moved him to MIKE linebacker. He’s got the quickness and the speed. I don’t know how big-time he can play, but I think he could be a Division I kid at that position if he really studies it and does a lot of film study. I know he’s going to be a senior, and it’s late to move him, but I think it will help him in the long run.”

"I think anyone running that he would be perfect for that because of his physicality, his speed and his overall ability. He’s a probably an upper 4.6-4.7 kid, but his quickness is way better than his breakaway speed. In between the tackles, that cat can move. I think that's his biggest strength. He’s a great basketball player, too. I think that’s helped his nimbleness on being able to move around those big guys.”
