Arkansas, OSU had highest rating for CWS finals in 9 years

— The College World Series championship matchup between Arkansas and Oregon State was the most-watched final round in Omaha since the 2009 matchup between LSU and Texas, according to ESPN.

The three games averaged 1.9 million live viewers, with a peak audience of 3.1 million viewers for the end of the Beavers' 5-3 comeback win over the Razorbacks in Game 2 on Wednesday.

Arkansas' 4-1 win on Tuesday and Oregon State's title-clinching 5-0 win on Thursday each averaged 1.8 million live viewers.

Heading into the College World Series, viewership for the 2018 NCAA Tournament had increased by 34 percent over the year before, according to Nielsen ratings.
