Underdogs thrive early on Day 2 in Hoover

— Edouard Julien hit a grand slam Wednesday as No. 7 seed Auburn defeated No. 2 seed Mississippi 9-3 in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Auburn (39-19) remains in the winners' bracket in the double-elimination portion of the tournament and faces No. 11 seed Texas A&M (38-19) on Thursday. Ole Miss (42-15) meets No. 3 seed Georgia (37-18) in an elimination game Thursday.

Auburn scored nine runs in the final three innings to rally from a 2-0 deficit.

Julien capped the outburst with his grand slam in the ninth. On Tuesday, he had the game-winning hit in the 11th inning against Kentucky.

Auburn's Conor Davis and Jay Estes each drove in two runs. Ole Miss' Jacob Adams scored twice.

Auburn starter Tanner Burns (6-4) allowed three runs — one earned — in seven innings. Ole Miss reliever Greer Holston (2-1) took the loss after allowing one unearned run without retiring a batter.

Texas A&M 7, Georgia 0

Chris Andritsos belted two homers and knocked in four runs Wednesday as 11th-seeded Texas A&M blanked No. 3 seed Georgia 7-0 in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

The victory enabled the Aggies (38-19) to remain in the winners' bracket in the double-elimination portion of this tournament. Texas A&M faces No. 7 seed Auburn (39-19), which defeated No. 2 seed Mississippi 9-3, on Thursday.

Georgia (37-18) faces Mississippi (42-15) in an elimination game Thursday.

Andritsos ripped a three-run homer in the seventh inning and a solo shot in the ninth. He also singled and scored in the fourth.

Texas A&M's Asa Lacey (3-1) struck out eight and allowed three hits and three walks in six innings. Cason Sherrod had five strikeouts and one walk in three innings of hitless relief.

Georgia starter C.J. Smith (1-1) struck out six and allowed six hits and two runs in four innings.

Florida 4, LSU 3

Tommy Mace allowed one earned run in seven innings and top-seeded Florida beat LSU 4-3 on Wednesday night in the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Gators (42-15) snapped a four-game skid and play Arkansas or South Carolina next. The Tigers (34-24) face the loser in an elimination game.

Mace (4-0) allowed just three hits and Michael Byrne got the final five outs for his 13th save.

Down 3-0 early, the Gators got the go-ahead run on Austin Langworthy's RBI single in the fifth. Jonathan India had two hits and an RBI.

For LSU, Jake Slaughter hit a two-run homer in the second. Daniel Cabrera was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Byrne struck out the first two batters in the ninth. Zach Watson singled but Antoine Duplantis hit a flyout to center.
