Baptist Prep guard Issac McBride commits to Kansas

Baptist Prep guard Issac McBride fresh off an official visit to Kansas over the weekend, orally committed to the Jayhawks on Monday.

McBride (6-1, 185 pounds) had scholarship offers from Arkansas-Little Rock, Abilene Christian, Arkansas State and other mid-major programs before he saw his recruiting take off with an outstanding showing at the FAB 48 tournament in Las Vegas in late July while playing for the 17-under Joe Johnson Arkansas Hawks.

Kansas, Auburn, TCU, Tennessee, Oklahoma State and SMU extended offers based off of his performance. Arkansas jumped into the mix with an offer on Aug. 27.

He averaged 24.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals as a junior while shooting 51 percent from the field and 45 percent from beyond the three-point line as a senior while leading the Eagles to their third straight state championship.
