Arkansas 9, Wichita State 1 - Middle 13th Inning

Angus Denton needed only seven pitches to get out of the top half of the 13th. He did allow the staff's first hit since Isaiah Campbell in the fourth, but a comebacker to the mound ended the inning.

Razorbacks relievers have allowed just one hit over nine innings and fanned 14 Shockers batters.

Arkansas 9, Wichita State 1 - End 12th Inning

Bryson Lierle singled through the right side with one away. He was then thrown out at first by the Shockers catcher after straying a bit too far away from the bag. Curtis Washington grounded out to short to end the inning.

Caleb Bolden is in to pitch for the Razorbacks in the 12th.

Arkansas 9, Wichita State 1 - Middle 11th Inning

Wicklander works a three up, three down inning in the top of the 11th. Jack Kenley smoothly caught a pretty challenging popup in foul ground to end the top half. The Shockers do not have a base hit over the last seven innings against Razorbacks relievers.

Arkansas 9, Wichita State 1 - End 10th Inning

Casey Martin led off the home 10th with an infield single. He then stole second prior to Dominic Fletcher drawing a walk. Following a wild pitch that moved Martin and pinch runner Curtis Washington up 90 feet, Zack Gregory's groundout to second plates Martin to push Arkansas' lead to 5-1.

Jack Kenley's sac fly to left field scores Washington, and the Razorbacks' lead is now five runs.

Left-hander Patrick Wicklander is now in to pitch for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas 4, Wichita State 1 - Middle 10th Inning

Heston Kjerstad is now 1-for-5 with four strikeouts since his two-run homer in the first.

Arkansas 3, Wichita State 1 - Middle 9th Inning

Left-hander Matt Cronin came on in the top of the ninth and shut the door on the Shockers in the regularly scheduled portion of the exhibition, striking out the side on 12 pitches - 10 strikes.

Arkansas' relievers combined for nine strikeouts and zero hits over five innings in relief of Isaiah Campbell, who fanned eight and allowed four hits in four innings of work.

Arkansas 3, Wichita State 1 - End 8th Inning

Casey Martin nearly had his first hit for extra bases tonight, but Shockers right fielder David Vanvooren made a nice play on the track to record the first out of the home eighth. Dominic Fletcher sharply singled to right then was thrown out attempting to steal second, bringing Dave Van Horn out to talk things over with the third base umpire.

McFarland later struck out for the third time tonight. Closer Matt Cronin is now on to pitch for Arkansas in a "close" situation. He will face 4-5-6 in the Shockers order. Zack Plunkett is behind the plate for the Razorbacks as well.

Arkansas 3, Wichita State 1 - Middle 8th Inning

Ramage closed the top of the eighth inning with a pair of strikeouts, including one of Luke Ritter.

Martin, Fletcher and McFarland are due up for the Razorbacks in the home eighth.

Arkansas 3, Wichita State 1 - End 7th Inning

The Razorbacks went quietly in the home half of the seventh. Nesbit grounded out to second on the third pitch of the at-bat, Trey Harris - pinch hitting for Matt Goodheart - grounded out back to the pitcher and Kjerstad struck out looking on the 10th pitch.

Attendance for tonight's game was just announced as 5,142. I don't think the crowd is that large, but it is impressive.

Arkansas 3, Wichita State 1 - Middle 7th Inning

Matt Goodheart went down swinging, bringing Heston Kjerstad to the plate with two on and one away. Wichita State, following Goodheart's strikeout, is calling on lefty reliever Alex Segal out of the bullpen to face Kjerstad and Martin.

Segal sat down Kjerstad on three pitches for the second out of the inning before issuing a walk to Martin to load the bases. A wild pitch from Segal allows Franklin to trot home from third to extend Arkansas' lead. Fletcher was then hit by a pitch, but the home plate umpire made him return to the plate. He struck out looking on the next pitch.

Kostyshock returns to the mound for Arkansas in the sixth inning.

Kenley then went down on strikes for the second out of the inning and Opitz went down looking to leave a man stranded. McGinness is at seven strikeouts through four, nearly matching Campbell, whose night is done. Kostyshock is in to pitch for Arkansas.

Arkansas 2, Wichita State 1 - Middle 4th Inning

After picking up his seventh strikeout of the night, Campbell gives up a one-out double to Hunter Gibson that one-hops the wall in left. Christian Franklin's throw to second is a bit late, and the tying run stands in scoring position.

Campbell then struck out Jordan Boyer for his eighth strikeout before Vanvooren grounded out to end the threat. If that is Campbell's final batter, he allowed four hits over four innings and fanned eight against one walk and an earned run. Jacob Kostyshock is warming up in the Arkansas bullpen.

Fletcher, McFarland and Kenley are due up for the Razorbacks in the home fourth.

Arkansas 2, Wichita State 1 - End 3rd Inning

The Shockers have scratched a run back off of Isaiah Campbell in the third courtesy of Luke Ritter. Campbell allowed a one-out single to Jacob Katzfey, who then stole second off Opitz.

Casey Opitz, Christian Franklin and Jacob Nesbit are due up for the Razorbacks in the second.

Arkansas 2, Wichita State 0 - End 1st Inning

Sophomore Heston Kjerstad went opposite field for a two-run home run in his first at-bat of the fall. Leadoff man Matt Goodheart led off the home first with a walk.

Casey Martin struck out for the first out of the home first, then Dominic Fletcher singled sharply to right field over the glove of Shockers first baseman Garrett Kocis. Jordan McFarland then struck out on a terrible pitch in the dirt, bringing Jack Kenley to the plate.
