Arkansas tops at Chile Pepper

— Arkansas freshman Katrina Robinson finished first in her cross country debut to lead a dominant performance by the Razorbacks in the Chile Pepper Festival at Agri Park in Fayetteville.

Robinson crossed in 16 minutes, 15 seconds to win the women’s 5K race. She was followed by teammates Carina Viljoen (16:23) in second place and Taylor Werner (16:49) who finished fourth.

Arkansas finished with 34 points to easily outdistance a field that included second-place Wichita State (116) and third-place Iowa Central Community College (175).

The Arkansas men also turned in an impressive performance with Gilbert Boit leading the victory.

Former Razorback Frankline Tonui (unattached) won the 8K with a time of 24:05.4. Arkansas runners swept the next three spots with Boit (24:05.8), Cameron Griffin (24:23) and Ryan Griffin (24:28.7).

Arkansas won the race with 38 points, well ahead of second-place Iowa Central Community College with 125 points.
