Razorbacks' spring practice start pushed to March

Arkansas coach Chad Morris watches his players Saturday, March 10, 2018, during practice at the university practice field in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas has pushed the start of its spring practice back three days.

The Razorbacks' first practice will be March 1, a team spokesperson confirmed Wednesday. By rescheduling practices originally planned for Feb. 26 and Feb. 28, Arkansas coach Chad Morris has a few more days to fill some assistant coaching vacancies, including the full-time defensive line position that came open when John Scott was hired by South Carolina last month.

The Razorbacks also have some vacant analyst and quality control positions.

The 15-practice spring season will run through early April. The Razorbacks are scheduled to play their spring game at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium at 3 p.m. on April 6, and will practice one more time the following week.

The team will not practice during the University of Arkansas Spring Break that begins when classes are dismissed March 15. Classes resume March 25.

Arkansas is coming off a season in which it was 2-10 overall and 0-8 in Southeastern Conference play in the first season under Morris.
