Pregame

The weather has changed a lot in 24 hours in Fayetteville. This time yesterday the Razorbacks were practicing on this field under sunny skies and with a temperature near 70 degrees.

Today the weather is not nearly as ideal. A cold front has pushed into the area and will cause game-time temperatures to be in the 40s, falling into the 30s after the sun goes down. There also is a layer of fog that might come into play as we get later into the day.

Arkansas is going to throw a number of pitchers today, beginning with freshman left-hander Patrick Wicklander. This might be an audition for Wicklander to make it into the weekend rotation by the time conference play begins.

Expect to see several other Razorbacks throw today, including some freshmen who have not thrown yet this season. Among them are Caden Monke, Liam Henry and Evan Taylor.

Memphis will throw junior left-hander Danny Denz today. Denz started the Tigers' game against Arkansas last season in Memphis and was solid in midweek games a year ago.

Arkansas fans also will get their first look today at Trey Harris as the team's designated hitter. Harris, who is from Little Rock, has battled a couple of injuries this year.
