FAYETTEVILLE — A handful of Arkansas football players will be unavailable when the Razorbacks start spring practices Thursday.

Coach Sam Pittman met the media Tuesday to preview the start of practices and revealed two players from last season’s roster are no longer with the team.

Offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee, a former 4-star prospect who was named to last season’s All-SEC freshman team, “lost the love of the game” and has decided not to continue playing football.

Defensive lineman Jashaud Stewart is also off the team, Pittman said. He was suspended indefinitely Dec. 14 following an arrest in connection with residential burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.

Three other players will miss at least the start of spring due to injuries.

Tight end Ty Washington will be limited throughout the spring as he finishes recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered in Arkansas’ victory at Florida in November. Pittman said he would miss about the first five days of practice but could be back after that.

“He’ll be able to catch some passes after Spring Break,” Pittman said. “We’ve just got to make sure he doesn’t go on the ground with that shoulder. But he's coming along. He's ahead of his schedule.”

Also notable at tight end: sophomore Luke Hasz will be available for spring. He started at tight end before suffering a broken collarbone early last season against Texas A&M. Running back Rashod Dubinion, who tore his meniscus late in the season, will also be back.

Redshirt junior offensive lineman Amaury Wiggins will miss at least the first week of practice after having “cartilage trimmed” during the offseason.

Freshman offensive linemen Zuri Madison will miss the 2024 season after tearing his ACL in a scooter accident.

“It’s a shame because he's really a talented guy,” Pittman said. “He’ll get stronger and bigger and those things. …He probably won't be back until either the end of this season, maybe get prepared in a bowl situation, or he’ll come back next spring.”

Pittman added he "may have missed guys," and there could be more who are limited in spring practices.
