Coaches tab Arkansas preseason SEC champion

— Arkansas has been picked to win the Southeastern Conference by the league's coaches.

The Razorbacks, ranked No. 1 in the preseason USA Today/Coaches' Poll, received nine first-place votes. Vanderbilt received three first-place votes, while Kentucky and LSU each had one.

Arkansas was also picked to win the league's western division with 12 first-place votes, ahead of LSU and Mississippi State. Vanderbilt was picked to win the SEC East, in front of second-place Florida and third-place ties Kentucky and South Carolina.

The Razorbacks last won the SEC overall title in 2004 and a division championship two years ago. Arkansas opens the season Friday with the first of a three-game series against Western Illinois at Baum Stadium.
