FAYETTEVILLE — Ky Madden scored a career-high 24 points as Arkansas beat Auburn 86-67 Saturday at Bud Walton Arena.
The Razorbacks used their inside game to build a lead in the first half and their perimeter game to maintain it after halftime. Bobby Portis scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half to help Arkansas build a 36-25 halftime lead.
Portis, who added 9 rebounds, had 10 points during a 17-3 Razorbacks run to extend Arkansas' lead to 31-16 with 3:28 left before halftime.
Madden and Fred Gulley each hit a pair of 3-pointers to keep the Tigers at bay early in the second half. Auburn never got closer than 8 points after halftime, losing its 16th consecutive Southeastern Conference game.
Arkansas (13-6, 2-4 SEC) snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 11-1 this season at home. The Razorbacks have won seven straight games against Auburn.
Madden and Anthlon Bell each hit 3-pointers during an 8-0 Arkansas run to open the game. The Razorbacks held Auburn without a made basket the first 7 minutes, 30 seconds, but the Tigers tied the game 8-8 with 11:43 left before halftime.
Arkansas made only 11 of 35 shots before halftime, but made 17 of 26 attempts in the second half.
Auburn (8-9, 0-6 SEC) never led. The Tigers pulled within 66-58 on KT Harrell's 3-pointer with 5:52 remaining, but were outscored 20-9 the rest of the way.
Gulley had 10 points and Bell added 9 points for the Razorbacks. Chris Denson scored 18 points to lead Auburn, while Harrell had 17 points.
Arkansas will host Missouri on Tuesday.
