FAYETTEVILLE — Bobby Portis and Michael Qualls have been invited to attend the LeBron James Skills Academy that begins Wednesday in Las Vegas.
The pair are two of 30 collegiate players invited to the four-day event that will feature skill workouts and 5-on-5 games in front of NBA scouts, media and college coaches.
This will be the second skills academy of the summer for both players.
Portis attended the Nike Big Man Skills Academy in Union, N.J., while Qualls attended the Kevin Durant Skills Academy in Washington, D.C.
Last season, Portis averaged 12.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game as a freshman. Qualls also had a solid year for the Razorbacks, averaging 11.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists as a sophomore.
Bentonville guard and Arkansas recruiting target Malik Monk is one of 80 high school players invited, as well. He is the No. 4 player in the class of 2016, according to ESPN.com.
