Offensive lineman Jalen Merrick called his official visit to Arkansas great and could see himself playing for the Hogs.
He said Arkansas is a lot different from what people have told him before his trip. He was told to expect a lot of woods and a country atmosphere, but said once he arrived in Fayetteville it opened up his eyes.
The trip to the Catfish Hole on Friday night was one of the highlights of the visit.
Merrick, 6-5, 310, 5.21 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., has more than 20 offers from schools that include Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Michigan State.
He also mentioned the friendliness of the people of Fayetteville as a major plus.
Offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola showed him around Saturday night. Merrick tweeted "I should learn how to throw TD passes" last night. He said that was in response to Tretola joking to him that he couldn't throw a touchdown pass until he leaves.
Merrick said the trip puts Arkansas high on his list. Coach Bret Bielema and offensive line coach Sam Pittman will do an in-home visit in a couple weeks.
He said visits to Florida State and Alabama are up next.
Razorback defensive line commitment Hjalte Froholdt of Bradenton, (Fla.) IMG Academy was hosted by quarterback Austin Allen.
His mother, Lisa wasn't able to watch the game in Denmark, but she kept up online and was thrilled with the outcome.
Froholdt said we when talking about Arkansas. He never doubted that Coach Bielema would turn the program around. He expected games like the Ole Miss contest..
He said Merrick had a great time and believes he'll end up being a Hog. Froholdt said Merrick experienced what he has in the past and had a home feeling while in Fayetteville.
As one would expect, the feedback Arkansas has received from recruits has been excellent after the 30-0 victory over Ole Miss. Things could get interesting in the next few weeks with some prospects, including a defensive prospect committed to another SEC team.
Arkansas defensive end commitment Jeremiah Ledbetter unofficially visited Arkansas this weekend. He took in Friday's Arkansas-Delaware State basketball game.
