Arkansas 11, Georgia 3, FINAL

The Razorbacks are halfway to a worst-to-first turnaround. Arkansas improved to 11-4 in conference games with the series sweep of Georgia, which ensures the Razorbacks will be at least tied for first when the weekend is over.

Kevin Kopps pitched real well for today. He threw 5 2/3 innings and didn't allow a run.

The Razorbacks had 14 hits and stranded 11 runners. Eric Cole led the team with three hits, while Spanberger, Bonfield, Shaddy and Biggers also had multi-hit games.

Arkansas plays again Tuesday against Memphis.

Arkansas 7, Georgia 3, Middle 4th Inning

Arkansas reliever Kevin Kopps inherited the bases loaded with one out in the fourth inning after Kacey Murphy faced two batters. Kopps needed only one pitch to get out of the jam, however, as Georgia two-hole hitter Cam Shepherd hit into a 6-4-3 double play. That was a big, needed play for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas 7, Georgia 3, Top 4th Inning

The Razorbacks stranded two in the third when Jax Biggers was called out looking at a 2-2 pitch. The Bulldogs have started the fourth well with the first three batters reaching, including Austin Biggar on an RBI double. There are runners on second and third with no outs, and Josh Alberius might be near the end of his road as pitchers are warming in a hurry down in the Arkansas bullpen.

Arkansas 7, Georgia 2, Top 3rd Inning

We might be on our way toward another long day at the ballpark. Georgia is on the board again after Tucker Maxwell's leadoff home run in the third.

Arkansas is sending Matt Cronin, Dominic Taccolini, Anthony Dahl and Kevin Kopps to the bullpen.

Arkansas 7, Georgia 1, Bottom 2nd Inning

Chad Spanberger's fourth home run in seven games has blown the game open here in the second. Spanberger hit a 3-2 pitch into the opposite field bullpen with one out. That chased Georgia starter Chase Adkins, who allowed seven runs and only recorded one out in the inning.

Arkansas 4, Georgia 1, Bottom 2nd Inning

The Razorbacks look like they're taking batting practice here in the second. Eric Cole reached on a bloop single and Jax Biggers followed with a two-run single to the opposite field with one out. Biggers then advanced to second on a throwing error by Adkins, the pitcher. Adkins is on the ropes early.

Arkansas 2, Georgia 1, Bottom 2nd Inning

The Razorbacks have taken the lead on a two-run single by Carson Shaddy. Grant Koch reached on a leadoff single and advanced on a throwing error by Georgia second baseman Will Proctor. That also allowed Jared Gates to reach base and advance to second.

There are still no outs in the inning. Georgia's pitching coach just came to the mound to have a conversation wth starter Chase Adkins.

Georgia 1, Arkansas 0, Middle 2nd Inning

The second was much easier on Josh Alberius as he retired Georgia with three straight fly balls. The Bulldogs have changed their lineup a little today, moving Michael Curry to the three hole from the cleanup spot. Curry was 6-for-8 with 6 RBI in the first two games, and has hit three home runs in this series.

Georgia 1, Arkansas 0, End 1st Inning

Georgia starter Chase Adkins looked strong out of the gate with a 1-2-3 first, including strikeouts of Chad Spanberger (looking) and Luke Bonfield (swinging) to end the inning.

Arkansas has Evan Lee, the base-running hero from last night, leading off today as the designated hitter. He flied out in his first at-bat. Eric Cole, the usual DH, is playing in place of Jake Arledge in right field.

Georgia 1, Arkansas 0, Middle 1st Inning

Arkansas starter Josh Alberius didn't have a good first inning for the Razorbacks. Georgia had two hits, including an RBI single by Aaron Schunk with two outs. Alberius also hit a batter but limited the damage when Will Proctor struck out on a slider to strand two runners.

It's a good crowd on a real nice day. The temperature is supposed to be near 80 degrees this afternoon, but there is some cloud cover. The wind is blowing in from right field, as is typical this time of year. That should carry some balls to left.

The Razorbacks are wearing camouflage hats today as part of Military Appreciation Day. The Air Force ROTC had a giant American flag on the field during the pregame national anthem.
