La'Michael Pettway suspended for NMSU game

Arkansas receiver La'Michael Pettway makes a catch Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, during practice at the university's practice field in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas sophomore receiver La'Michael Pettway was suspended for the New Mexico State game, coach Bret Bielema revealed after the Razorbacks' 42-24 win.

Bielema "removed Pettway from the program on Thursday 'till Sunday." Bielema The two will have a conversation Sunday.

"Just needed to get a couple things straight for him," Bielema said. "Nothing bad or anything. He didn't do anything wrong other than little bit of academics, little bit of being on time, where he needed to be, at the right time, right place.

"The kid's a good kid and I like him, but he's got to learn to do it."

Pettway began the season as a starter, but had just one catch for 7 yards the first three games, including barely playing against Texas A&M.

"He had not gotten anything with the ones (in practice) for the last two weeks," Bielema said. "He had been with the twos and threes."
