Texas athlete Dixon decommits from Arkansas

Arkansas commit Kelvontay Dixon.

— Make it five pledges who have exited Arkansas’ 2020 football class since Chad Morris was let go on Sunday.

Carthage, Texas, four-star athlete Kelvontay Dixon (5-11, 175, 4.3 40-yard dash), a top-300 player nationally, per ESPN, re-opened his recruitment Monday evening.

All five of the decommitments are from the state of Texas and leave the class with nine players. It is also expected Highland Park quarterback Chandler Morris will be going elsewhere following his father's dismissal.

“After a long talk with my mom and family I have decided to decommit from the University of Arkansas,” Dixon tweeted. “I want to thank (Razorback running backs) Coach (Jeff) Traylor and the coaching staff for everything.”

Carthage offensive lineman Ty’Kieast Crawford decommited from the Razorbacks earlier this season.

Dixon joins Crockett tight end Allen Horace as commitments who re-opened their recruiting on Monday while Austin Westlake wide receiver Mason Mangum, Marshall wide receiver Savion Williams and Houston North Shore tailback John Gentry did so Sunday.

Arkansas' 2020 class is ranked 77th nationally, per 247Sports composite rankings, and last in the 14-team Southeastern Conference.
