NOTABLE Since a 0-2 start to the season, Missouri has won four of its past five games. The Tigers lost 38-19 to Alabama at home to open the season, but have won their past three games at Faurot Field against LSU, Kentucky and Vanderbilt….Arkansas is 1-5 against Missouri since the Tigers entered the SEC for the 2013 season. The teams began playing annually in 2014. Arkansas has not won at Faurot Field….Saturday will mark the third time this season Arkansas coach Sam Pittman has faced a program for which he previously served as an assistant coach. Pittman was an assistant coach at Missouri in 2000 and began his coaching career as a high school coach in the state of Missouri. Pittman is 1-1 this season against former employers Georgia and Tennessee….Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz grew up in Alma, about 40 miles south of Arkansas’ campus and began his coaching career at Springdale High School. Drinkwitz was reportedly a candidate in the Razorbacks’ head-coaching search that ended with Pittman being hired last year….Arkansas has lost 14 consecutive games when a rivalry trophy is at stake. In addition to the four straight losses to Missouri in the Battle Line Rivalry game, the Razorbacks have lost eight straight to Texas A&M and five straight to LSU….Two former Fayetteville High School players (receiver Barrett Banister and defensive lineman Akial Byers) are on the Missouri roster. Arkansas offensive line coach Brad Davis and cornerbacks coach Sam Carter were also on Odom’s staff at Mizzou….Arkansas and Missouri were scheduled to play last Saturday, but the game was postponed due to covid-19 protocols that left the Razorbacks without enough players to satisfy SEC roster requirements. Missouri defeated Vanderbilt 41-0 last week in a game that was scheduled after the Arkansas game was postponed….Missouri and Arkansas are 1-2 against common opponents this season. The Tigers defeated LSU 45-41, lost 35-12 at Tennessee and lost 41-17 at Florida. Arkansas defeated Tennessee 24-13, lost 63-35 at Florida and lost 27-24 to LSU.
