Former Arkansas guard Dusty Hannahs has reportedly been called up by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Grizzlies reporter Evan Barnes of The Commercial Appeal in Memphis reported on Thursday that Hannahs was expected to sign a 10-day contract with the team. Hannahs, currently in Los Angeles, will fill Memphis’ 15th and final roster spot.
Hannahs, who played for the Razorbacks from 2015-17 after transferring from Texas Tech, is averaging career highs in scoring (21.2) and 3-point percentage (46.6) in 33 games this season with the Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ G-League affiliate.
“It’s time,” he posted to his Twitter account on Thursday.
The Little Rock native was signed by the Grizzlies to a 10-day contract last March, and he made his NBA debut on March 31 against the Los Angeles Clippers. He scored four points against the Clippers and Portland TrailBlazers before being waived on April 4.
In two seasons with the Razorbacks, Hannahs averaged 15.4 points per game and shot 41 percent from 3-point range. He poured in a career-high 16.5 points per game on 43.3 percent beyond the arc in 2015-16.
He scored 7.3 points per game in two seasons with the Red Raiders.
Led by rookie sensation Ja Morant, the Grizzlies have arguably been the surprise team of the 2019-20 NBA season. Coming out of the all-star break, Memphis holds the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference at 28-27, 3 1/2 games ahead of Portland.
The Grizzlies are scheduled to face the Lakers on Friday.
