Marcus Henderson takes turn at TE

— Freshman Marcus Henderson, who had been playing offensive tackle, worked with Arkansas' tight ends Tuesday.

Henderson, 6-5 and 284 pounds, figures to be more of a blocker than a receiver if he stays at tight end. He switched to No. 83 from No. 56.

The move for Henderson came after freshman Eric Thomas’ brief stint at the position. Thomas, who had been at linebacker early in camp, went back to defense last week after a few practices at tight end. He’s wearing No. 37 as a linebacker.

Freshman Blayne Toll has moved from defensive end to tight end, back to defensive end and again back to tight end since the start of spring. He’s wearing No. 89 on offense.

Coach Sam Pittman said Friday that Toll was “rapidly moving up the chart there.”

Both Pittman and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles said the tight ends have to become more physical. They’ve been doing more blocking drills against linebackers.
