Tygart lands another Freshman All-America honor

Arkansas pitcher Brady Tygart earned a second Freshman All-America honor Monday. 

Tygart was named to the Freshman All-America first team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. He was one of three relievers to make the team, along with Alonzo Tredwell of UCLA and Landon Kruer of Navy. 

A right hander from Hernando, Miss., Tygart has been one of the Razorbacks’ top pitchers all season, primarily as the team’s closer. He has a 3.82 ERA and .212 batting average against in 37 1/3 innings, and his 8 saves are a team high. He has struck out 51 and walked 21. 

Tygart and left-handed pitcher Hagen Smith were previously named to the Freshman All-America team by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. It is the sixth consecutive season the Razorbacks have had at least one freshman earn the honor.
