Arkansas sets record at Vanderbilt Invitational

Arkansas sophomore Erich Sullins set a school record in the weight throw at 60 feet, 10¾ inches to take third for the No. 4 Razorbacks on Friday at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.

Razorbacks senior Ken LeGassey cleared 6-11½ to finish fifth in the high jump.

Arkansas’ No. 2 women’s team got first-place finishes from Daina Harper in the 200 meters and its distance medley relay.

Harper, a senior, won in 24.20 seconds. The distance medley relay of freshmen Carina Viljoen, Alexandra Byrnes and Taylor Werner, and sophomore Kailee Sawyer won in 11:33.43.

Arkansas junior Taliyah Brooks, training for the pentathlon, took fourth in the long jump at 5-7¼ and seventh in the 200 in 24.75.

The meet concludes today.
