Chip has been a sports writer for most of the past 26 years, earning numerous awards in Texas and Arkansas. Chip was named the sports editor of The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas in 2004 and the sports section earned six national Associated Press Sports Editors awards, including Top 10 Daily, Top 10 Sunday and Top 10 Special Section in its circulation category.
Razorbacks to open soccer season in North Carolina

The University of Arkansas soccer team will open the season today at UNC-Greensboro. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start
The Razorbacks were 14-5-4 last season under Coach Colby Hale, who is 83-57-16 in seven seasons at Arkansas. Hale has coached the program to five NCAA Tournament appearances, including each of the past three seasons.
Arkansas returns top goal-scorers Tori Cannata, Taylor Malham and Marissa Kinsey, who accounted for 19 of the team’s 43 goals scored in 2018.
The Razorbacks, who will be featured on the ESPN networks four times this season, will host Oklahoma at 6 p.m. Sunday in their home opener.
