— Arkansas redshirt senior linebacker Grant Morgan announced Friday he will return to play for the Razorbacks next season.

“Merry Christmas!,” Morgan tweeted. “I’m not done being a Hog. My work here is unfinished. The best is yet to come. 31 is back!”

Arkansas head coach Sam Pitman said earlier this week that four unnamed Razorback seniors had confirmed that would be returning and three or four more might.

Morgan, a native of Greenwood, is in the midst of a first-team All-SEC season in which he had a team-leading 111 tackles before suffering a left knee injury in the second half of the Missouri game Dec. 5.

He leads the nation with an average of 12.3 tackles per game.

Morgan, who was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award as the nation’s best linebacker, said he’ll be “good to go” for Arkansas’ game with TCU in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 31.

Morgan is also one of three finalists for the Burlsworth Award, given to the nation’s top former walk on and named after former Razorback All-American offensive lineman Brandon Burlsworth.
