Ozark OL Burns amazed by Arkansas' program

Brock Burns

— One of the top prospects at Arkansas’ recent Junior Day was actually a sophomore offensive lineman.

Ozark offensive tackle Brock Burns (6-4, 250), a starter this past season for the Hillbillies, was on campus March 7.

“It was great,” Burns said. “I couldn’t ask for any better facilities. It’s just awesome. It’s crazy how amazing (the facilities are) and how much money they put into the football program.”

Burns, part of a 12-2 Ozark team that lost 48-21 in the state semifinals to eventual champion Joe T. Robinson, was clear about the highlights of his visit.

“I would say the weights or the nutrition center,” Burns said. “The food is just awesome. The guys just seemed into it. They really cared.”

Burns is the cousin of former Ozark tight end Bryant Burns, who will play his college football for Army after holding offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas Tech, Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist.

The younger Burns is hopeful that offers will start coming his way, and he feels good about one specific aspect of his game.

“I would say my feet,” Burns said. “I have good footwork. I try my best. I’m trying to get stronger and gain some weight. I’m looking to be 280 (pounds) or somewhere in there.”
