Arkansas went through its 11th practice of the preseason Wednesday morning. Here are some notes and observations from the 20-minute period open to the media:
• Players in green no-contact jerseys: Ricky Stromberg and defensive back Kevin Compton. Secondary coach Sam Carter, showing a bit of personality, was also wearing a green jersey. Jalen Catalon, Trent Gordon and Marcus Henderson were out of their green tops.

• Did not see running backs Trelon Smith or AJ Green today, but Josh Oglesby, who looked like he was experiencing a lot of pain in one of his feet Tuesday, was back and full go. Linebacker Deon Edwards was back and working with the third-team defense. He was not present the first two days after Saturday’s scrimmage.
• A scout/rep from the New York Giants was in attendance, bringing the number of teams represented at some point in training camp to at least 11.
• The wide receivers group did not have a great day catching passes on air. Thought it was the most balls we’d seen hit the ground to this point in camp. Tyson Morris had a couple of really nice hands grabs — one low and one in which he extended high above his head — and Trey Knox and Treylon Burks looked as you would hope.
• Arkansas started the day with its Fastball Start. Here is how the depth played out 1-3:

Notes: Jefferson hit Jaquayln Crawford and Knox for short gains then threw incomplete for De’Vion Warren. The ball to Warren was well-placed and went through his hands. Hornsby found Morris for a short gain, kept the ball twice for runs then threw the ball away with Bumper Pool applying pressure. Jackson had a couple of nice catches from Coley in which he went low to beat cornerback Nick Turner.
Sam Pittman said after the first scrimmage of the preseason that Ty’Kieast Crawford would probably find himself in the 2-deep at right tackle, and that’s where he was today. Latham continued to run with the first team at left guard. He is in a battle with Jones that will come down to the wire, according to offensive line coach Cody Kennedy. Burks was again held out of the quick start to practice.

Notes: All three of the defensive line transfers made up the first-team unit once again and Henry has been a constant at linebacker alongside Morgan lately. Bush was backing up Bishop again and Clark was No. 2 behind Brown. Good to see Edwards back in the fold, but it pushed freshman Chris Paul off the 3-deep for now.
