Razorbacks drop 2 spots in AP poll

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ men’s basketball team fell in The Associated Press Top 25 on Monday.

Two days after completing a sweep of a pair of home games against in-state opponents in Central Arkansas and Arkansas-Little Rock, the Razorbacks dropped two spots to No. 12 in the poll. Arkansas defeated UCA 97-60 last Wednesday and UALR 93-78 on Saturday.

The Razorbacks, No. 44 in the first NCAA Net Rankings of 2021-22, are 8-0 for the third consecutive season under Eric Musselman. Arkansas currently has one Quad 1 victory (Cincinnati) and one Quad 2 victory (Kansas State).

The team’s six other wins are deemed Quad 4 victories.

The Razorbacks return to Bud Walton Arena on Tuesday when they host Charlotte in their last true home game until Dec. 21. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. on SEC Network.

The 49ers are 4-3 this season and coming off an 86-79 home win over George Washington on Saturday. Charlotte also own wins over Monmouth, USC Upstate and Appalachian State on the road. 

Charlotte lost to Toledo (98-86) and Drexel (67-55) in the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship, and Davidson (75-58) at home.

Other SEC teams in the AP poll are Alabama (9), Kentucky (10), Tennessee (13), Auburn (18), Florida (20) and LSU (25).
