Easter finds commonality with Pittman during visit

2023 TE Shamar Easer and Arkansas coach Sam Pittman.

Arkansas major 2023 target and Ashdown tight end Shamar Easter made an unofficial visit to Fayetteville on Saturday.

During the visit, he learned he and coach Sam Pittman had something in common.

"The best thing was siting in Coach Pittman’s office and talking with him," Easter said. "I just got back from church camp and he asked me which camp it was and it turned out he had gone to the same church camp."

Easter, 6-6, 215 pounds, has accumulated scholarship offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Tennessee, Arizona State, Kansas and many other programs. He was the first 2023 in-state prospect to receive an offer from Pittman.

Easter was taken aback by him and Pittman attending the same church camp.

"I was shocked, but then I remembered he was from Oklahoma," Easter said. "It was great. He is a great guy."

Easter recorded 22 catches for 400 yards and 7 touchdowns as a sophomore. He is impressed with tight ends coach Dowell Loggains' NFL resume, which includes being offensive coordinator for four teams.

"It was great. He is a great guy," Easter said. "The NFL experience he has is just great."

The highly touted prospect plans to return to Fayetteville for a football game in the fall.
