4-star Rowser pledges to Arkansas

Picking up one of the nation’s top football recruits turned out to be easy like Sunday morning for Arkansas.

Detroit Belleville 4-star defensive back Myles “Ghost” Roswer (6-1, 185 pounds), 247 Sports' 131st-best recruit in the 2022 class, announced his pledge to the Razorbacks in a post to his Twitter page Sunday.

Rowser, who is scheduled to make an official visit to Fayetteville on June 4-6, chose Arkansas over co-finalists Alabama, Michigan State and Kentucky, and he is the Razorbacks’ eighth 2022 pledge.

“It was my league of choice, the best staff and they made me feel like a priority,” Rowser said. “Most of the campuses are about same. It’s more about the league and the staff.”

He expects to be a versatile pickup for Razorbacks defensive backs coach Sam Carter.

“I’m looking to play right away and willing to put the work in,” Rowser said. “Nickel, corner and/or free safety.”

The addition elevated the Razorbacks' class to 13th in 247 Sports’ 2022 team rankings.

Rowser, who was committed to Michigan for five months before reopening his recruitment in April 2020, stressed he would now become a recruiting leader for the Razorbacks.

“I’m coming for all the ballers I know,” Rowser said.

The nation’s ninth-best safety prospect, according to 247 Sports, Rowser had 61 tackles, 3 tackles for lost yardage, 2 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions, 1 sack and 10 pass breakups as a junior for a 10-1 team.

Rowser also had offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Penn State and other programs.

He has watched Arkansas’ basketball team’s run in the NCAA Tournament to the Elite Eight.

“Arkansas' got a real squad on the court,” Rowser said.

Former Belleville five-star defensive tackle Damon Payne (6-3, 300) signed with Alabama in December while Andre Sheldon, Rowser’s stepbrother, is a sophomore cornerback at Michigan.

Current Belleville junior cornerback Jeremiah Caldwell (6-3, 170) is committed to Kentucky.
