Tate named to All-South Region team

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas senior guard Jalen Tate was voted by media to the NCAA Tournament All-South Region team.

Tate averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in four games against Colgate, Texas Tech, Oral Roberts and Baylor.

He scored a team-high 22 points in the Razorbacks' win over the Golden Eagles in the Sweet 16, and his six assists in the game were his most since he had eight at Vanderbilt on Jan. 23.

Tate reached double figures in scoring in all four tournament games. He made 19 of 22 free throws.

Baylor guard Davion Mitchell was voted the region’s most outstanding player. Joining Mitchell and Tate on the All-South Region team were Baylor guards Jared Butler and MaCio Teague and Oral Roberts guard Max Abmas.
