FAYETTEVILLE — Two Arkansas baseball players entered the NCAA transfer portal this week.

Infielders Jude Putz and Ryan Ward are among four players who went through fall practice with the Razorbacks but are not expected to return to the team for the spring semester. Their names are listed in a transfer tracker at D1Baseball.com and their intent to transfer was confirmed by a team spokesman.

Putz, a native of Loch Lloyd, Mo., redshirted last season. Ward, who grew up in Coronado, Calif., is a true freshman.

Easton Swofford, a freshman infielder from South Side High School in Bee Branch, is expected to play the 2023 season at Crowder (Mo.) College, according to a team spokesman.

Matthew Magre, a left-handed pitcher from Fayetteville, no longer plans to pitch for the Razorbacks, the spokesman said. Magre appeared in one game during the 2021 season and redshirted last season.

Arkansas had 44 players on its roster for the fall practice season that concluded in October.

The Razorbacks will begin pre-season practice late next month in preparation for their season-opening weekend at the College Baseball Showdown in Arlington, Texas, where Arkansas is scheduled to play games against Texas, TCU and Oklahoma State from Feb. 17-19.
