Hogs to hold Red-White Showcase in Barnhill Arena

Arkansas fans call the Hogs during the basketball Red-White Game on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville.
FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ men’s basketball team will return to Barnhill Arena for its annual Red-White Showcase next month.
Razorbacks coach Eric Musselman announced on social media Wednesday morning that his team will hold the intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday, Oct. 4. It is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
According to a release, doors will open an hour before tipoff. Tickets are not required, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The game marks the fourth time under Musselman that Arkansas will play its Red-White scrimmage in Barnhill Arena, the program’s former home arena of 36 years.
It is the second known preseason event for the Razorbacks. They are also scheduled to host Purdue in a charity exhibition at 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 in Bud Walton Arena.
Arkansas’ season opener is set for Nov. 6 against Alcorn State.
The Razorbacks’ roster in 2023-24 features seven new transfers in El Ellis (Louisville), Khalif Battle (Temple), Keyon Menifield (Washington), Denijay Harris (Southern Miss), Chandler Lawson (Memphis), Tramon Mark (Houston) and Jeremiah Davenport (Cincinnati). Menifield will spend the season as a non-scholarship redshirt.
Layden Blocker and Baye Fall are the team’s freshmen, and Trevon Brazile, Davonte Davis, Jalen Graham, Makhi Mitchell and Joseph Pinion are scholarship holdovers from the Sweet 16 run in March.
