FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas men’s basketball coaching staff has been finalized for the 2023-24 season, head coach Eric Musselman announced Monday.

According to a release, Michael Musselman, Todd Lee and Ronnie Brewer have been elevated to assistant coaches. Michael Musselman and Brewer remain director of recruiting and recruiting coordinator, respectively.

The NCAA Division I Council in January voted to increase the number of coaches allowed in men’s and women’s basketball, and the new rule went into effect in July. Coaching staffs can increase from three assistants to five.

“All three of these coaches have demonstrated their importance to this program and the program will continue to benefit from their knowledge and expertise,” Eric Musselman said in a release. “Michael has successfully led our recruiting efforts for the past four years. As a former head coach, Todd’s contributions this past year were invaluable to me and our program in terms of breaking down our own program and our opponents.

“Ronnie has played a key role in our recruiting success, done an excellent job getting our players involved in the community and has been a mentor to our players by sharing his extensive NBA knowledge.”

Michael Musselman, Eric Musselman’s oldest son, was promoted to director of basketball operations in May 2022. Lee, who has 12 years of head coaching experience, joined the Razorbacks’ staff ahead of the 2022-23 season and served as director of scouting and assistant to the head coach.

Brewer returned to Arkansas as recruiting coordinator in July 2021. He played three seasons for the Razorbacks before a long NBA career, and was All-SEC in 2005 and 2006.

Keith Smart and Anthony Ruta are Eric Musselman’s other assistants. Gus Argenal, who spent two years as an assistant with the Razorbacks, accepted a head coaching job at Cal State San Bernardino in May.

Smart, Ruta and Michael Musselman will be designated as off-campus recruiters.
