FAYETTEVILLE — No. 16 Arkansas softball rallied from a five-run deficit and edged Southeast Missouri State 6-5 in 8 innings Sunday to close out the Wooo Pig Classic.

The Razorbacks fell into an early hole in the first inning as SEMO battered two Arkansas pitchers for four hits and five runs.

Arkansas (17-4) slowly chipped away at the SEMO lead. The Razorbacks got a run in the first inning and three in the second, including a lead-off solo home run from Hannah Gammill.

The Razorbacks tied the game in the third and pitcher Robyn Herron, who came in relief during the second inning, dominated SEMO the rest of the way, allowing just 2 hits with 7 strikeouts.

Herron (6-4) also got terrific play from her defense in holding SEMO (4-14) scoreless over 6 1/3 innings.

After holding the Jackrabbits scoreless in the top of the eighth inning, Arkansas won it in the bottom of the inning as Reagan Johnson's sacrifice fly scored pinch-runner Nyjah Fontenot from third base with the game-winner.

Johnson had two hits for the Razorbacks, who had nine hits as a team.

Arkansas is scheduled to face Nebraska at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Razorback Rumble at Bogle Park.
