Arkansas' Bri Ellis named SEC softball player of the week

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas junior first baseman Bri Ellis was named SEC player of the week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Ellis, a transfer from Auburn, batted .636 during Arkansas’ four games in the Razorback Rumble over the weekend. She had 7 hits, 6 RBI, 1 home run and a 1.00 slugging percentage during the invitational.

She finished the weekend strong with multi-hit performances in wins over South Alabama (3 hits) and Northern Iowa (2) and raised her season batting average to .342. 

Arkansas went 3-1 at the Razorback Rumble with two wins over Northern Iowa and a split against South Alabama.

Ellis is the first Razorback to win SEC player of the week honors since Raigan Kramer did in March 2023.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to begin SEC play this weekend at Auburn beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
